Omni Center, KPSQ FM Radio, and MayDay Community Kitchen are all having birthdays in May. Wow. We are proud that Omni could be part of the mutual aid culture that blossomed as covid swept through our community last year. And Omni could only do it because Omni members and friends stepped up to help. Dozens… Continue reading MayDay CK is Infrastructure for Justice

adrienne maree brown dances with DARPA
By some mystical technical glitch I thought this post went out last Friday, but it didn’t for some reason. Here is the adrienne maree brown / DARPA post from last week whose link would not work. Apologies to those who tried to get there from here and couldn’t do it. Thank you for telling me… Continue reading adrienne maree brown dances with DARPA
NOW Rules in Agonizing Ways
We want a future that works for everyone. But NOW still rules in agonizing ways. People are suffering and there’s too much blindness to it. I hope you’ve contacted your Quorum Court members. (scroll down the page to find them) Many people have, and more messages are needed. The pressure is being felt. (Maybe you noticed… Continue reading NOW Rules in Agonizing Ways
Dear HARK, Don’t Sit On The Money Please
“The poor we have always with us…” the holy book says. But sometimes things happen that are just so beyond the reckoning of men that lives and communities are destroyed. Wars and insurrection in our backyards, change of climate, and pandemics, for instance. All of which happen to be threatening, at the moment, or already… Continue reading Dear HARK, Don’t Sit On The Money Please
The Darkest-Hour-Before-Dawn Principle
Yesterday a pandemic started, and next week it’s Christmas. Somewhere in between the most contentious election any of us remember happened. How weird is that? Christmas with Covid is lining up to be a somber season, in spite of a positive election. I thought about that because of the zoom meeting I just came from… Continue reading The Darkest-Hour-Before-Dawn Principle
Post-covid becomes present-climate change
After four years of crazy we finally come back to the moment of reality where we have to think about climate change again. If the Trump years were an attempt to hide from it we’re done with that. Covid is still with us, but hope is on the horizon. Huge gratitude to all the medical… Continue reading Post-covid becomes present-climate change
The Bifurcatio that could have been worse
We could have turned the other way, but we managed to choose this road, and the turn makes a difference.
We still don’t know what’s down this road. We didn’t leave covid behind, the climate is still in collapse, the corporate state is still in charge, and the president’s followers are glumly trapped on the bus with us… and they might bring guns. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride. I hope you don’t worry that we picked the wrong road.
A deep state that eats its faithful
The protesters look similar – except for the guns. They sound about as noisy. Their faces are all determined. They all have posters. One element may hold the key to which group wins or loses, and it’s not the guns. I keep wondering what’s in the mind of Republican voters when they faithfully follow directives… Continue reading A deep state that eats its faithful

These are the guidelines of our efforts, which we all commit to uphold. By committing to these principles, we ensure our efforts can be unified and disciplined, pushing towards a common goal while giving us the freedom to decide what is best for our own local groups: 1. We commit to defend the people’s… Continue reading Principles: Choose Democracy
The Dawn After the Election Storm… Really
Choose Democracy: the case for a Nonviolent Version of the Story [Look for “All You Fascists Bound to Lose” at the end of this post] Every day we’re waking up to something scary. Our scale for rating scary keeps adding more numbers to the top of the graph as we come to terms with the… Continue reading The Dawn After the Election Storm… Really
